Reduce, reuse, recycle – it’s a familiar phrase to employees of Koch companies. At the Wichita, Kan., headquarters, electricity usage has decreased 22 percent since 1998, translating to a considerable reduction in emissions. In 2006, the Wichita facility recycled about 128 tons – nearly 50 percent - of material produced in the office environment, including newspapers, magazines and paper. Georgia-Pacific uses recycled paper to make tissue and towel products at its Muskogee, Okla.; Green Bay, Wis.; and Rincon, Ga., facilities among others.

Harmon Associates, a division of Georgia-Pacific, is one of the largest paper recyclers in the world. The company purchases fibers globally including corrugated, newsprint and office paper, as well as metals and plastics, supplying in excess of 100,000 tons per week. GP mills turn the recycled fiber into everyday products including toilet paper, paper towels, napkins, communication papers and corrugated boxes.
